The location is fantastic, just a short walk to major attractions. The shower temperature fluctuated annoyingly .

It was very convenient. The staff are very helpful to you if you know Spanish. They kept my room clean. They were very trustworthy, also. In all, they have a nice place and they have good hearts.
With a hostel, you have to make sure that you get an alarm clock during the day if you want to wake up at a particular time the following day. Ata hotel, they can arrange to give you a wake up call at any time.

The hotel was fairly clean and simple, had welcoming stuff and air-conditioned rooms. I greatly enjoyed a great breakfast.

powerful air conditioner, compact room size, spacious bathroom
Shower temperature fluctuated annoyingly!!! Noise from nearby activities at odd hours can disrupt sleep, especially for light sleepers. Better soundproofing would enhance the experience!!!

With the awareness that people might be interested in different places and an assumption that this hotel should be of interest mainly to those sightseeing, it has an excellent location , with all tourist attractions nearby. As a second advantage I would say that the rooms were more than accurately cleaned everyday.
Rooms and corridors has an out of date look (except for sheets). The bathroom is small, but enough, with separate hot and colds taps in a wahbasin (except for a bath tap - there a two taps in a bath). It is located on a 2nd floor so you enter a hotel through a public entrance, must take a lift to get in. There is no reception, but if it was, it would be not be helpful at all as the staff doesn't speak Engligh, even a simple word (we thought they speak at least 10 words after reading other reviews, but we were shocked hearing them speak only Spanish). The hotel is run by a older marriage. A woman is unkind and impolite (woke us up by hitting on the door)

The location near Retiro park and proximity to Huertas' nightlife.
The windows overlooked the wall of another building and the walls are too thin - in the night you can hear tv, people coughing, talking on the phone, arriving with luggage etc. The shower is not adjustable. The payment was demanded upon arrival, even prior to showing the room.

Lively district, good location. 5 minute by foot from metro stop, 10-15 minutes go to Puerta del Sol and Airportbus stop. Actually it's like B&B, not real hotel. Very friendly, helpful owner, old wooden steps, classic lift, creates good atmosfere. Free W-fi works good.

Staff always very very helpful and patient!
Certainly a very good experience for rest in Madrid. Straightforward, low budget property. Very clean beds, a nice size room. Good food for breakfast. Perfect and nice location in very nice area, easy to get anywhere. Based just off art museums, Madrid's old town, and a funky arts district with lots of cafes😃

Location
The bed and the pillows. Also, you can't enter with the car to the neighbourhood or you can get a fine. The person at the hostel told us that he called to say that we where going to the hostel to lift the fine.

You shoud expect to be woken up in the middle of the night when you leave the light on. Saving starts here :-) Besides that the location is superb and the hotel is OK for the money you pay.
